WHEW ! THIS IS HARD WORK shaping this 3/4 inch thick back. I began with rasps, then went to a router for a little help, Then I found the old fashioned sculptors chisel and ironbark mallet effective. Just tried a hand plane and it has it's uses. The chisel and mallet is the best for hogging off wood.
But I am slowly getting there. Another couple of hours ought to have it under control, then some fine planing and I will be ready to turn it over and hog out the inside. Gloves rasps, chisel and plane Plane, I WILL CONQUER THIS THING YET !!!!!
