Tonight I reached the point where the French Polish looks rich enough. I just "stiffed" the tenors down with a little alcohol on the munica and will let them rest over night- then tomorrow I will start the first of three or four applications of shellac that is diluted twice as much as the basic shellac I have been using. for some reason the more dilute mixture really puts a high gloss on the finish. Then it will be time to attach the bridge and tuners, and then things really get exciting. Here is what the Koa/Cedar #45 is looking like tonight, the finish a little muted by the alcohol treatment to remove the olive oil that I have been using for lubricant.
