DOWN TO THE DETAILS

These ukes needed caps on the heels.  Here is how it was done.

To match the purfling on the binding we needed black, and white pieces of veneer to fit under the Rosewood cap.  Here they are line up in the order they will be attached.

first a little glue on the heel, & attach the black

'then a little glue on the black and attach the white

Finally add the Rosewood cap and clamp it all together.

Next project is to sand the radius into the fretboard.  The white pencil marks indicate your progress as you sand. When they are all gone the job is done.

Stu chose the peg head plate for his Baritone. It is just sitting on the uke, not yet attached.
