I have four magnificent but strange shaped pieces of Koa wood. I have been trying to figure how best to cut it and use it.
this is really high grade Koa and will make beautiful instruments. I sure don't want to waste a bit of it.
I can get two tenor backs and four sides out of these four pieces. I could build one tenor using Koa for both top and bottom, or I could get four backs and use less grand Koa for sides, or two ukes using the Koa for bodies and using other woods for the sound board. What is your advice ??
In a simpler matter, I made good progress on the two concerts today.
'the second tier of tentelones were glued and clamped on.
And the side sound holes cut and and glued in. they will be boxed up soon
