I called Carla in to make a decision on the wood for her fretboard and discuss her ideal neck shape. Here she is inspecting her uke which just got its bindings.
I had just gotten the end piece glued in, It needs a little more sanding but will match the binding nicely when done.
East Indian Rosewood and a "bear claw" Sitka Spruce soundboard.
And a back of a piece of the wild wood East Indian I recently acquired. Each one wild and wonderful
Two ukes got worked on today. Carla's on the left and on the right a fiddleback maple/spruce for Dianne in Florida.
The back piece starts with the router cut. Then two pieces of purfling are glued to each side.

This piece of Koa ought to look about right
Here it is sanded smooth and looking good, just a little work to do on the binding joint above it
