Here you see Rick holding a new uke under the black light bulb.  He is checking for glue on the surface that must be sanded off to get a good finish.

The LMI glue we use contains a chemical that glows blue under the black light.  a great way to detect glue smears before applying finish.  LMI stands for Luthiers Merchantile International. a luthiers supply company.

glueing on a bridge usually results in a bit of "squeeze out" when the clamp is applied.  Best to clean it out now before it sets up.

Here is the perfect tool to scoop up excess glue. Simply a plastic soda straw cut with a point.
