CHOICES-CHOICES.

I MADE THE FRETBOARDS today, cut them to approximate length, cut the grooves for the frets, planed and sanded in the radius on each.  The only thing lacking is the final ripping of the shape and the frets themselves.  Now I am to a point of decision on the Blondes.  Do I use a rosewood fretboard (safe) or do I jump out and use one of the pieces of lacewood that I have.  WHAT DO YOU THINK I SHOULD USE?

I AM TEMPTED TO use that crazy lacewood.  Since I have two "Blondes" in this build perhaps I will do one of each. The lacewood has a little more "bling" than I am comfortable with but it is extremely pretty and interesting wood, and plenty hard for a fret board.  I am going to put gold "ivo" frets on these ukes so include that in your evaluation. I would appreciate hearing what you think.  An interesting aesthetic decision.

Perhaps one of each. Have you thought of not putting top fret dots on the Lace wood just on the side? Looking really good!

Thanks Pat, In fact I have now decided to use the lacewood on one of the "Blonde"s I will make a lacewood bridge also and that will balance it out. I had not thought of not using mother of pearl dots. Why do yo suggest it? too much activity on that active lacewood? I will think about that, but will put dots on the edge for sure.
