CARVING FUN

I GUESS I HAVE ENJOYED WHITTLING since I was a little kid.  I have scars on my hands to prove it, so this bass neck is a really pleasurable whittling project.  I made some nice progress today, slow but sure.

There is lots of fine carving yet to do, and lots of careful sanding, but all in all I think it is going well.
But I still have not decided what to do with the foot of this neck.  Pat M. suggested I carve a Griffin head, you know, the mythical monster with the head of an eagle.  I am tempted-but that might be a bit too medieval.  Maybe just another simple volute would be best.  I will put that decision off to the last.  What do YOU think, send me a message!

What a great project, I think you cannot go to elaborate, the Griffen head would be great. After all you will never part with this bass, till death do you apart, might as well make it personal
