NO PICTURES WITH THIS POST. I just read the "Trade Secrets" posting on the Stewart McDonald luthier supply website entitled "BONE FOR TONE'. In it they proclaim the superior qualities of natural bone nuts and saddles over all the plastic and other materials used on acoustic instruments. Then they go on to say that bleached bone is not as good a sound transmitter as natural or unbleached bone because unbleached bone is denser. The quote a number of well known luthiers who all laud the superior qualities of cow bone.
Now for the boast. Griffin Ukuleles use only unbleached Bison Bone which I have sourced from a local buffalo ranch, processed, dried and shaped myself. If cow bone is recommended because it is dense, buffalo bone must be better as it is 30% denser than cow bone. No wonder those Griffin Ukuleles sound so good.
Just Sayin.
