The curly maple binding is on the Koa/cedar, at least half of it is. In the morning I will fit the binding to the other side and give it the rubber band treatment as well. Then I will only have the end seam piece to do.
Here is how I prepare for the end piece. I made a little jig that I clamp on the end of the uke. The plastic piece is cut to control the indexing piece on the router. It rides along the edge of the cut out and allows the bit to carve out just the shape that I want. Works like a charm once you get the hang of it, and it is so very simple. The inlay will be put in after the binding is glued on.
