Once upon a time, long before ukuleles, I did a lot of wood carving of various kinds. Along about Christmas season each year I would whittle out a few more of the figures from "the Partridge in A Pear Tree" and hang them on an espaliered pear tree outside our kitchen door. I finally got them done about twenty years ago. We moved to a new home that did not have a real pear tree, so I made this one of out sheet steel and each Christmas season the "Partridge" and its friends are hung again.
