Stephen in California, upon receiving his new uke says, "She sure is a beauty" and, "I am getting to know her", and Cazzie in Spain seems intent on calling her uke under construction "Humphrey" Makes me wonder, do you have a name for your instrument and if so is it a girl or a boy. Despite the name Humphrey is beginning to shine.
Cindy's Cedar top, and Joes Redwood top are going to get boxed today. First I had to sand the back of the bodies carefully so that the backs would fit perfectly. Just scraping on a big piece of sand paper.
Then you locate where the back braces will cross the sides and cut notches for them with a little saw and a sharp blade.
And now for the glue
And now the back is clamped in position and the job is done
All Clamped down tight with a variety of clamps. You can never have enough clamps it seems,
After dinner I went down to the workshop and took the clamps off. These ukes are boxed.
