On the ocean again in the big outrigger canoes of Maui Paddle Sports. Always a great experience, this morning we were out with Jamie and Kyola. We saw some whales, a couple of dolphins and our first Shearwater. An hour and a half of exercise and pleasure on a windless sea.
Here is the crew getting ready to pose. These folks are from Portland and on their first trip in the outriggers. Marya and I have been doing it for years now.
Jamie is giving Auntie Marya a farewell hug. He has been canoe captain on these boats for all the years we have paddled with them.
This guy is a player, even if you cannot see him. He was playing a tenor ukulele beside an excellent guitar player. I was fascinated with his style. He was using a finger pick and playing beautifully up the nexk. I over estimated the iPhones ability to pick up light, but at least you can hear this fellow play. He is good.
