These four concert pinecones are essentially done, that is if you don't count the sanding, french polishing, making the bone nuts and saddles and stringing them up.
I drilled the tuner holes today. I made the holes just large enough to accept the tapered auger that will prepare the holes for the tapered Peghed tuners that I will be using. I will use the auger to widen the holes the rest of the way.
Then I began the serious sanding. I carefully sanded each uke starting with 120 grit. Now all four are sanded to 220 grit. Tomorrow the sanding will be done and the French Polish begun. Here are the various devices I usd for sanding. The key ingredient here is the great sticky back sand paper, It comes in big rolls and is really excellent sandpaper-plua it attaches to your tool
