But now Timark has asked for hearts on his fretboard. Well, my friends at Bay Engraving can do anything with their laser machine, and so hearts were easy..
The hearts are installed now and the frets are in the fretboard. The next task is filing the fret ends so they are smooth and easy to play.
This is done with a tiny file rounded on one edge to ride the wood of the fretboard without damaging it.
These fret ends must be smooth and rounded so your fingers are not snagged. Kind of a tedious job, but necessary
