IN THE MORNING I FLY TO IRELAND ! There won't be any ukulele work to report on but If you have a travel itch, keep tuned, cuz I am headed for Ireland tomorrow to research the family roots of John Joseph Donovan, an important historical figure of Bellingham and the Pacific Northwest. I am writing the great man's biography and need to know of his father's beginnings in Skibbereen, County Cork. He fled the potato famine in 1850 to start a new life in New Hampshire. Check into the blog during the next week and I will share my adventure with you.
But today I had a special treat. I was visited by, and gave a workshop tour to a grand gal that I met last year on the Zodiac Cruise. "Jumpin Jan" from Portland Or. came north to visit her sister and brother-in-law Tom and Chris. They had given Jan one of my Concert Pinecones a couple of years ago and Jan wanted to visit the workshop. We shared a delightful couple of hours together and Jan even brought an order for another Pinecone for one of her Portland fellow ukes. Great to see you again "jumping Jan"
NEXT POST WILL BE FROM IRELAND- and yes of course I am taking a ukulele along.
