A WHITTLING KIND OF DAY

Thirty tone bars and braces to whittle and shape for these two ukuleles.  Each one of fine grain Sitka spruce with the grain vertical for strength.

And when they are all done and ready to glue on, there is a great pile of shavings to sweep up

While I am making a mess, Rick is doing the final sanding and starting the French polish on Joe's tenor.  It is going to be a beauty.

Before the tone bars can be attached the under the saddle patches must be glued on.  These are now ready for the tone bars.  That will happen tomorrow.

But the back braces we got on today.  Here they are in the GoBar rack.
