TODAY I delivered my typewritten book to the editor. I have lots of little details to work at but I am free to begin another ukulele build. The three tenors are now sanded, They have received their three wash coats of shellac and it is time to begin the laborious but pleasurable process of French Polish.
These ukes have all received their first three coats of {wash coat) just an application of the shellac cut with alcohol. The idea is to build up a stout coat of the finish and then the laborious process of French Polish can begin. These uses are looking very good to this point. I intend to keep the Redwood/Rosewood Uke. The other two are committed to others. As I work on the finish, I will begin a new build-but I have not yet decided what woods I should use. Maybe by tomorrow I will have made my decisions and will post pictures of the woods.
