I had a very pleasant visit this morning from my friend Ralph Rinne and his Grandson Walker Van Wingerden.
Walker is heading east to Michigan in June to attend the Galloup Luthier School in Big Rapids. There he will study the art and practice of Luthery under the tutelege of Bryan Galloup. I expect that this young man will return from his six month course, not only with several guitars of his own making, but with a developed passion for his new profession. I was impressed with his early grasp and evident enthusiasm for making acoustic instruments. I predict he will be a good one.
The best of luck Walker, and remember, only use the very best of woods.
p.s. Walker is holding "The Blonde", a koa/Englemann Spruce tenor that is about half way through the french polish process with its two other litter mates. They are Koa/Cedar pups.
