Lots of things to do. First was replacing a failed bend for Gary's ukulele. A lovely piece of wood but it broke at a weak place of grain.
And so the only solution was a new set of sides. Sanded down some more wood, and got out the Hot Pipe.
And so here are the new sides, Still nice looking wood, but not quite so wild grain- they bent nicely.
While I waited for the hot pipe to heat up, and glue to dry elsewhere, I began to process three new necks for ukuleles I have on order and will begin in a couple of weeks. I also picked out the wood sets for all three, They will all be Redwood tops, and East Indian Rosewood bodies.
The epoxy locking in the carbon fiber rod in the neck finally hardened and I was able to attach the neck to the soundboard for Sandy's Uke. Tomorrow maybe I will get it's sides on.
