Today the Community Players, a sub set of the Bellingham Ukulele Group braved a stormy day to play two concerts at Brookdale. We played for half an hour in the Memory Assist unit and then played our entire 1 hour program for the residents in their social room. What a joy, we all sang together, I played my now repaired bass as usual, and we had an enthusiastic and excellent group who get better with every performance.
In the center, in red, is our leader Linda Henderson.
Here is my old friend Georgia, playing her Griffin tenor, Thats Pat Madsen with the baritone, and Joan can be seen behind Georgia in the green sweater. A wonderful group of friends who get together once or twice a month to play for assisted living residents. They always enjoy it and sing along enthusiastically.
I got some heavy duty sanding done this morning. Here is the end piece for the Bocote uke, #103. I am very pleased with the wood match.
I was also happy with the wood selection on the Cocobolo. I have a bit of cosmetic work to do on the binding.
What a bizarre piece of wood this is. Can't wait to see it finished.
The sides are pretty dramatic also.
