A DAY OF SURPRISES

The morning began with a trip to the dentist!  A filling dropped out.  But then things got better.
Back at the workshop, a visit from Nicole Hurtubise who had some minor problems with a pickup in her tenor.

We wanted to check out the pickup on my amplifier and so Nicole sang a little song.
Lovely voice.  I convinced her to install a low G string to augment her deep voice.

My friend George Thomas is building a resonator guitar and needed one inch cedar posts.  George has every other conceivable tool in his shop but he does not have a lathe, so I turned his posts for him this afternoon

this handy tool allows you to set it at exactly the diameter you wish and cut reference cuts- then it is easy to level to that point. I set this at a hair over one inch knowing sanding would reduce the diameter

And here it is, ready to deliver to George tomorrow and just about exactly 1 inch in diameter over its entire length.
