The snow on our steel roof has changed to ice and is slowly slipping off in ribbons made by the vertical joints in the roofing.
It hangs there like strips of plastic foam, bending over the gutter edge and not breaking. the strips of ice are bent at an extreme angle as they leave the roof. Why they don't break off and fall mystifies me. They have been hanging there for hours. Can anyone explain how this phenomenon is possible. We have lived in this house for 12 years and never seen this before. Truly a winter wonder.
A little closer view of our strange phenomena. If you can explain why they don't break please let me know.
