A CHANGE OF DIRECTION;

I HAVE DECIDED TO NO LONGER MAKE CUSTOM UKES.  I became fascinated with making ukuleles about five years ago.  A couple of years ago I discovered Weebly, the website producer and put together this website.  Suddenly I was getting custom orders from around the world.  It was pretty exciting, and I got a little carried away.  I raised my prices  and enjoyed a brief period of heady excitement about being a luthier.   I soon learned that such success had its price.  Time expectations, perfection expectations, pressure to perform that I have decided I do not need.  I love to build ukes.  I have decided that I will simply make instruments that appeal to me. When they are done I will post them for sale on the website for folks to buy if they share my tastes.  I have also decided to lower my prices to $950 for a tenor, $900 for a concert, $650 for a pinecone concert.   I will finish two custom tenors that I have orders for, but from this point forward I will just make ukes that please me.  I will be celebrating (if that is the word) my 81st birthday on Nov. 1st.  I really don't want nor need the pressure of a lineup of orders demanding my attention.  Keep your eyes on the web-site.  I will soon post three concerts and two tenors.  Once I finish the tenor build I am working on I think I will build some pinecones.  I shall keep on building If you want one of my creations give me a call to see what I am building and when it might be ready.  I will continue to post photos of what I am building on the blog so you can see what I am up to.

Congratulations on the decision.
Your instruments have a punch I have yet to find in any other upscale ukulele. With the combination of woods you have, I'm looking forward to the unencumbered artist of such fine instruments.

The three G;s that I own were "off the shelf". I would stop by Brians to play the ones just finished; They were all so good I had to take them home.

Dang, at that price, looks like I may be adding another soon.
