The holiday took its toll on uke production but was great fun
Including the Friday Harbor parade, a wonderful view of Americana
But tuesday, back in the shop, we got started on two new tenors. One for Diann in Florida and one for Eva in Bellingham, and in two days great progress has been made.
After this photo was taken I cut out the sound holes, sanded them to final thickness and glued on the bridge patches. Then while the pipe was hot I bent the sides for both ukes.
Getting ready for the bend.
At the end of the day, even got the backs thinned to .o90 and the three braces on each back. Tomorrow I will work on carving the necks. These ukes have had a fast start.
I must confess, I carved these braces while sitting on the beach over the holiday, These and enough for about ten more tenors.
