Now the finish work begins. This is another Cocobolo Tenor with a Cedar soundboard. The last two with this combination of woods have been wonderful, I expect this one will be as well. It is built for Roger Gates.
This shot was taken just after the fretboard had been attached. Now the final shaping of the neck can take place.
Since these photos were taken a couple of days ago it has all been sanded and sanded some more and just tonight I began the finishing with the pore filling process, using fined sawdust and dilute shellac rubbed in with a cotton ball. One more application in the morning and the pores should be filled, then the French Polish begins.
