FOR YEARS AND YEARS the Rotary Club of Bellingham has spent a day during the Christmas Season ringing the bells for the Salvation Army. For years and years I have enjoyed renewing the Christmas spirit as people young and old contribute what they can to the less fortunate. Of special joy is watching young parents encourage their little children to put a few coins in the pot. They are teaching them the life lesson of sharing and love for the less fortunate. This year I did my three hour stint with Doug Cole, a recently retired Northwest Airlines pilot. That pot was mighty full when we turned over our bells to the next crew.
We shared the space with a very pretty Llama, (didn't catch her name) She was raising money for some good cause. Once I was assured that she would neither spit nor bite I just had to have my picture taken with her. What a beauty she is. and perfectly well behaved,
