I strung it up yesterday-sounds good
Old growth Western Red Cedar, 443 growth grains across the bout.
Spalted Maple from the Fountain District tree. Beautiful wood but very soft. Difficult to sand and finish I laminated back and sides with mahogany veneer to strengthen it.
Spalted wood makes in a very light instrument, striking in appearance but perhaps delicate in strength, I am pleased with its sound probably thanks to its Cedar soundboard and laminated body.
