YESTERDAY'S VISIT to Eric Devines shop to see my uke in progress was of course a high light of my trip to Maui this year. Here are a couple of pictures of the happy uke buyer fondling the just boxed up body. I am also including a close-up of the incredible growth rings of the redwood top. It is even finer than the cedar that I use, and the cedar averages 47 growth rings per inch. This has got to be 55 or higher. It is just rough sanded now but it will be smooth as a babies bottom when Eric gets done with it.
I will post some pictures of his workshop tomorrow.
