Decided to build five sopranos all at once and had some nice black walnut that I have had for many years
I can get a back and two sides from each piece
Also had some lovely Lutz Spruce too short for Goncert so the logical choice was to cut it all up Soprano size.
The next challenge was necks. I had a nice chunk of walnut, 13 inches long, four thick and about 9 inches wide which I cut into four pieces. It made eight necks.
Found enough ebony in my woodpile for fret boards so now the project is ready to go. Lots of work ahead but it ought to be fun. Keep tuned, I will give you a blow by blow.
