A SLIGHT DELAY

AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS into french polishing the three concert pinecones that you folks are waiting patiently for I just had to stop and sand them down to bare wood again.  When the finish  goes on every little scratch is revealed and I was just not satisfied with the sanding job I had done.  It was not bad, but not good enough so I sanded off the shellac, started again with 150 grit, and went through progressively finer grits, 180, 220, 280, 320, 400, 600, 800 and   finally  1,000.  The backs and tops are  fine as a babies bottom now, and I am feeling much better,  Three spit coats applied and tomorrow the french polish begins again,  Only lost three days and  I want them to be perfect for you Monica, Stephanie and Paul.  Patience, it won't be long now.

No worries Brian! I'm not in a rush. It's fun to see the build process :)

That is one gorgeous Pinecone! I knew I should have been a little faster on the "buy it" button.
